3S will be focusing on diary entry, narrative and person recounts

Our COG's unit this term is "Our Fleeting Past". This unit explores events in Australia's history and the subsequent consequences for Aboriginal people. Australia flora and fauna will be researched investigating various adaptations.

The investigation of foodwebs and the impact of introduced species will be explored in Science. The effects of colonisation on  the environment will also be researched.

Sport-  PSSA sport is Netball and Soccer and Non PSSA sport will include AFL and fitness.  Acrosports is timetabled for one 40 minute session each week and the term will end with the school cross country event.

Maths- The children will cover all strands, number, measurement, patterms and algebra, data, space and geometry, working mathematically working with Math's Plus.  Mentals will be given to strengthen number facts and confidence.

Dramatic interpretations of 'Our Fleeting Past' will be developed through Creative Arts.  Native Australian flora will be explored by sketching, rubbings and painting.  Aboriginal rock carvings focusing on traditional Aboriginal methods, styles and colours will be explored.

The children will be visiting the ICT unit at Macquarie University on Thursday 22nd March.
