ComputersGordon East is well resourced in computer technology. The school’s cabling infrastructure was up graded in 2003, giving each classroom the potential for six networked computers with full access to the internet and the file server in the computer lab which accommodates 16 networked PCs. The library now has five new PCs which allow greater scope and development of internet based research skills. The school has a data projector and a new networked colour laser jet printer as well colour printers in classrooms and a b/w networked printer in the lab. With thanks to the P&C, the upgrade of our file server in 2005 has enabled us to upgrade all PCs to the XP operating system and has seen our school streamline their operation and automated virus protection throughout the school. Computer Education is fully integrated into the curriculum. Specific computer skills are taught in the context of topics or themes being studied in the class.
