Term 4

It is hard to believe we are at the beginning of Term 4.

This Term our COGs unit is ‘Changes’ where the children learn about how we and other living things can change in different ways over time.  As a part of this unit we will be looking at how the children have changed over the past 5 or 6 years. We are asking for the children to bring in a photo of them when they were little and a current photo.

In Mathematics we will be completing the K Origo program.  Each child is given class time to work through Mathletics on the computer each week. This is a computer program which your child has been working at home. If they have completed all the activities there is a link to Rainforest Maths for them to complete additional mathematical activities.

Reading groups will now be on Thursday and Friday mornings.  If you are able to assist please add your name to the roster near the door in the classroom. The Home Reading and Homework programs will continue, returning all homework on Fridays.

As per last term, we have sent out the News Topics for Term 4. If you didn’t receive the term outline of topics or have misplaced it please come and see us as we have spares.

Please note that there has been a change in sport days for Term 4. KAF will need to wear their sports uniform on Wednesday and Friday. Library remains on Wednesday with Mrs Eadie and Computers will now on Tuesday with Mrs Hall.

As the end of term approaches we will be involved in lots of Christmas craft activities so please make sure your child has a new glue stick or perhaps two!

There are a couple of important dates for the term to keep free. K-6 Presentation Night will be held at St. Ives High School on Monday night 7th December where Kindergarten will be presented with their Graduation Certificates and K-2 will be having their Christmas Concert on Friday 11th December. More information about these and their end of year Christmas Show will be given out closer to these dates.

Please continue to keep us informed if you have any concerns or there are any changes to your child’s routine.  As always we are available to have a chat if any need arises.  We are looking forward to working with the children in this last term of Kindergarten and we expect to have a busy and productive term.
