Environs
For many years now, the parents at Gordon East have provided volunteer labour to assist with the up keep of the school grounds. A very attractive feature of the school, is its beautify tree lined grounds and oval.
On a few occasions each year, the environs committee has an afternoon on a weekend where the parents of designated classes come to the school with their garden implements and work to a plan devised by the environs committee.
In addition to beautifying the school grounds, the environs day encourages parent interaction and are a valuable activity in developing a sense of community within the school.
